Spare a thought for Tony F, Chief Executive of 'Air Asia'

Arriving in a hotel in KL Sentral he went to the bar and asked for a pint of draught Guinness. The barman nodded and said, "That will be one Ringgit please, Uncle Tony."

Somewhat taken aback, Uncle Tony replied, "That's very cheap," and handed over his money.

"Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition", said the barman. "And we are serving free pints every Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. We have the cheapest draught in Asia"

"That is remarkable value" Uncle Tony comments

"I see you don't seem to have a glass, so you'll probably need one of ours. That will be 3 Ringgit please."

Uncle Tony scowled, but paid up. He took his drink and walked towards a seat.

"Ah, you want to sit down?" said the barman. "That'll be an extra 2 Ringgit. You could have pre-book the seat, and it would have only cost you a Ringgit"

"I think you may to be too big for the seat sir, can I ask you to sit in this frame please"

Uncle Tony attempts to sit down but the frame is too small and when he can't squeeze in he complains "Nobody would fit in that little frame".

"I'm afraid if you can't fit in the frame you'll have to pay an extra surcharge of RM 4 for your seat sir"

Tony swore to himself, but paid up. "I see that you have brought your laptop with you" added the barman. "And since that wasn't pre-booked either, that will be another 3 Ringgit"

Uncle Tony was so annoyed that he walked back to the bar, slammed his drink on the counter, and yelled, "This is ridiculous, I want to speak to the manager".

"Ah, I see you want to use the counter," says the barman, "that will be 2 Ringgit please."

Uncle's face was red with rage.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Of course I do Mr Fernandes"

"I've had enough, What sort of Hotel is this? I come in for a quiet drink and you treat me like this. I insist on speaking to a manager!"

"Here is his Email address, or if you wish, you can contact him between 9 and 9.10 every morning, Monday to Tuesday at this free phone number. Calls are free, until they are answered, then there is a talking charge of only 10 sen per second provided you use Tune Talk using other mobile carriers would incur our normal charges of 30 Sen per second."

"I will never use this bar again"

"OK Uncle , but remember, we are the only bar in Asia selling pints for one Ringgit... so that Now everyone can drink"

Usrah 1 : Korban

I think it would be useful if I write whatever I have learnt just now here as it can be shared with the readers too. Am I right?

We started our study circle with Quran recitation, surah Al-Kahfi verse 30-45. We discussed about the meaning of our favourite verses and one of them was quite excited on sharing her thought about verse 45.
And set forth to them parable of the life of this world: like water which We send down from the cloud so the herbage of the earth becomes tangled on account of it, then it becomes dry broken into pieces which the winds scatter; and Allah is the holder of power over all things
She also linked it to a song entitled 'Pohon Hijau' sang by Brothers. Life is figured as a green tree. The green tree has its life cycle which actually configure our life cycle. When the tree is green and being showered with rain, it pictures the life of being showered with happiness and prosperity. After quite a time, the leaves fall onto the ground and being carried away by the wind which shows life at golden age.

The circle was then furthered by a topic of things we encourage to do in Zulhijjah.

Qurban fadilat. A few of the encouraged things to do are as follows:
1. Fasting
2. Takbir and Zikir
3. Performing hajj and u'mrah
4. Adding up good deeds
5. Slaughtering animals in the name of Allah (Qurban)
6. Repenting

Last thing in tentative, DINNER! ;) Everyone especially my housemates were looking forward to this final slot as our tummies were 'singing' badly before. LOL. And the menu was 'nasi tomato' a.k.a tomato rice. Here is the recipe of nasi tomato

ESL 1 : Cendol oh Cendol!

Today, nicitoyou went to the first Eat.Share.Love session for cendol recipe. So I'll describe things I learnt here, okay?

Kacau sebati adunan cendol (2 cawan tepung beras + 6 cawan air + 2 sudu kecil air kapur, secukup pewarna dan pewangi pandan). Pastikan tepung beras tidak bergentel, dan adunan completely in liquid form. Penggunaan air at room temperature sangatlah digalakkan.

Masukkan adunan dalam non-stick deep pan dan kacau hingga pekat dan likat. Gunakan api sederhana dan keep on stirring the mixture.

Setelah adunan cendol siap dimasak, gunakan acuan yang berlubang (in this case, we used ikea vegetable filter) supaya cendol yang dihasilkan gemok-gemok dan tidak patah.

Air gula (gula merah/gula melaka/brown sugar/caster sugar) dimasak di atas api perlahan dan dikacau sehingga likat.

Masak santan atas api sederhana. Tapi, jangan sampai pecah minyak?

Cendol pulut sedia dihidang!

What my heart is feeling...

Today, I'm awesome! Haha

Ok, who cares, right? Sukati aku la nak cakap aku awesome, kan?

Why out of sudden do I write here?
Jeng, jeng, jeng... Sebab dalam hati ada taman... Wink~
Ha, x yah over la nicitoyou.
Tapi... haaaaa nak over jugak. Jarang kot dapat phone call on Tuesday. Lately, oh bukan lately pon, mmg starting this new academic year, phone call is only on Friday night. But when once in a blue moon moment comes, that sweet moments should be cherished wisely, right? Berbunga-bunga la hatiku ini, macam ada rama-rama terbang atas kepala. Gedik tak?

Today dah start case based learning for reaction engineering. Mula-mula macam blur gak la bila lecturer tu bagi explanation kat depan. But, once started, ok je la. Pening gak la tengok data sebab macam x familiar kan. Hebat nya Allah... Allahuakbar. Ha, dan dengan jayanya aku pon siap la introduction sheets for that session.
"Short term target: kena master using excel. Haaaaaa"

Orang nak pergi portmeirion marquee sale!!! Sigh.. Tak boleh pergi sebab ada case based learning pukul 4.30-6pm which is compulsory to attend or else dapat 0% for that part of assignment. Sedih :((. Orang nak pergi, nak pergi. Nanti my housemate yang tahap kesampaian dia tinggi dah balik Malaysia, siapa nak bawak kite pegi.. Sadis tak feeling? ...

But I wonder la, which one is the best ek? Crazy Daisy or Corelle?
So, kne usha2 ni. Harga 16 pieces Corelle including dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs is around 77pounds maximum. But I don't really know about Crazy Daisy.
"Jatuh hati dengan Dawn Chorus nye tea set. LOL"

Gedik day out @ Bamburgh Castle

Welcome to Bamburgh Castle. Today, Nikon will be the host for this trip. Who am I? I'm nicitoyou's friend. I have two separate bodies, one is big black, and one is tall slim silver. I will accompany red riding hood, green lantern and blue valentine along the exploration of this Nothumbrian castle. Excited? Nikon is excited too!!! Let's go!

Nikon, capturing Bamburgh Castle. Actually, Nikon forgot to read the history of this castle before hand. And once arrived, Nikon was too amazed with the beautiful scenery till Nikon neglected to read all those information stands around the castle. Green lantern once read it, but she forgot the whole story. She could only remember the part King Ida had stayed in this castle. But, never mind. You can simply click here to read the history timeline.

Green lantern, posing in front of Bamburgh Castle. Look at her? Was she stylish with the shades? Haha. You tell me. Green lantern was super excited with this trip as her part time modelling could be taken place. You will see several more of her photos cam-whoring at here.LOL

Here are my friends, a complete trio taking picture on top of the hill. Can it be considered a hill? It's not a cliff though. Ok, whatever it is, so.. here they are. Being amazed by the tranquil creation. Oh, before Nikon forgot, blue valentine was the professional photographer along this trip. So, everything should be credited to her. Thank you blue valentine!

Nikon chose this as the best picture ever for this trip. From the angle perspective, this shot is enough picturising the structure of a part of the castle, together with the combat pathway underneath. The togetherness of three colours in this picture is shown perfectly and it's eye-catching moment.

Green lantern, at somewhere over the rainbow. Haha. She just loves taking picture, so, she smiled while looking at red riding hood who was trying to make her laugh.

From Bamburgh Castle. With love. xoxo. When the trio went more 'gedik and bajet korea' style. See the Bamburgh Castle as a prop behind? Nikon likes this picture too as it shows how lovey-dovey they are.

Green lantern more. Can't get enough right? It's fine. Nicitoyou is awesome, so, whatever!!! Haha.

Oh, Nikon wants to tell you something too. There, Nikon met quite a few dogs. One was black, one was white, one was blue. Eh, blue? How come? No... That wasn't blue, it was the owner who was wearing blue. The dog was brown in colour. At first, Nikon was quite afraid walking by the beach as the lovely pets were running and playing around with a ball or stick at their mouth. After sometimes, Nikon got used to it and 'whatever-ing' them. Haha. Nikon loves the blue sky, not the blue pets.

The front view of Bamburgh Castle from the seafront. It looks quite smaller, right? And yeah, it is actually quite a walk to go to the seafront, from the castle. We were like walking through bushes and hilly parts to arrive there. Going down was fine as less energy was taken, but going up again by dawn, oh my... it made us feel like, 'Let's go hiking, man! We can do this! Haha'.

This was taken along the journey to the seafront. We were bothered by any prop coming, so we tried hard to take pictures at every angle we could think its prettiness of. Looking away, and again, because now blue valentine made her laugh.

And last but not least, nicitoyou at the seafront. And hey, that's me, Nikon. Look at me with that pretty lady, (awww, over... hahaha). Nikon was happy while accompanying them. Nikon was glad that they were happy too. Nikon hopes that after this, the trio can start working on their business in leisure without thinking of Bamburgh Castle anymore. They'd been there and cherished the moments.

So guys, just wait for next episode of a trip, okay? Stay tuned! Nikon wants to say BYE!!! ;))
