Overreacted daughter

Ha, ni first time aku tengok mak aku melepek, terlantar je tak boleh bangun. Maknanya tugasan suri rumah tu dah jatuh kat bahu aku. Mom was warded today at general hospital tuanku jaafar, seremban. Penyakit apa? Aku pon tak tahu. Paling senang cakap, sakit puan la sebab admitted dekat hospital ibu dan anak.

So, kenapa nak overreacted? Sebab ni first time aku ada kat rumah yang orang lain tak de and aku tengok ibu tidur dalam kesakitan. Banjir air mata aku sampai hidung merah macam badut. Siapa tahan tengok mak sendiri macam tu kan? Suppose appointment dengan doktor hari isnin, tapi sebab aku nampak macam mak aku sakit gila, aku pon bagitau mak sedara aku tanya apa nak buat. Bantai dia kecoh satu ghombau, sumo lak tau. Adoiyai... So, bapak sedara aku datang rumah bawak g hospital seremban and tunggu giliran selama sejam setengah kat emergency department. Masuk jumpa doktor, boleh pulak dia kata kita drip sahaja today sebab HB okay je ni. So, selaju-lajunya sister tu drip saline solution (kot). Doktor kata jangan risau la. Tak de apa-apa. After dripping tu, mom seemed better at least. Can smile and laugh a bit now.

So we head to the hospital this morning as per appointment. Doktor kat klinik pakar tu tanya, ada pening-pening lagi x? Ada sakit-sakit lagi x? Nak masuk ward? I laughed just at his face. Lepas tu sambung mengomel, "apakah? Baru hari ni terus dapat ward. Orang dah ulang alik hospital 2 kali asyik kena halau je"

Mom masuk hospital building baru. Nice la. Bersih and tak sesak. And duhhh kosong je kot level tu. Ada 12 pesakit je termasuk ibu. Separuh capacity level tu. Dah apa yang penuhnya jumaat ahad rituh? Lempang satg baru tahu. Geram betul. Masa ibu was being diagnosed, aku dan along lepak dekat bilik tv atas kerusi best and tidur. LOL. Padahal bukan waktu melawat tu. Sesuka hati tok nenek je lepak. Tapi pukul 2 petang, kena halau dengan guard. Dia tak kasi dah. Pagi tadi kasi sebab baru admitted. Fine.

Dah polisi hospital pon tak boleh menunggu pesakit, just boleh melawat, aku pon balik UTP dengan hati yang tenang sedikit sebab ibu mampu senyum and ketawa dengan lawak bodoh aku dengan along tadi. So, at least terhibur la hati dia.

Doakan ibu cepat sembuh ye.

Selawat shifa'

Double Masters? What??? Would it be possible for me to handle?

I clearly remember the day I submitted my MEng research project report to the office. I swore that I would not be going to study anymore and I would not practise as an engineer.

And now, believe it or not, I have been studying another course of engineering since the past two weeks. That means I still have 17 months and two weeks more to go. True, Allah is the best planner.
If before, I took chemical engineering degree program, I am currently reading a totally new course which is drilling engineering at master level. The pressure is overburden since most of oil and gas companies profiting on malay basin look up on us. This is first time that such a course being taught formally in university. Most of the drilling engineers in current practice only have on job training program scheduled by the company. For us, they try to instill the foundation of drilling before transferring us for real practice.

2014 has passed. The new day of 2015 just arrived. Let bygones be bygones. Though there are up and down in 2014, I cherish them all. Everything happens for a reason. I am not going to let those bygones disturbing my future. The memories, I will keep it safe in my mind.

2015, treats me better, okay? I want a first class for my master. I wish to find a good potential husband. I want the opportunity to bring my parents for hajj and my family for umrah. I wish everyone I loved to have good health and fortunes. And I wish an end to the world war, please get the rights on track.

Ya Allah, guide me to love you endlessly.

Uh oh instant noodles

My mind is craving for instant noodle now.
Just eat then
No. I'm within examination period
Does it make an effect too? I mean, like immediately?
*Silent*
Ohhh, why? I don't know the answer.

Google?

They just say it's bad for health, if it was to be consumed on daily basis. It takes 4 to 5 days to excrete the wax coating from a normal human body.

Sigh...

So, I asked my friend.

Is it okay to eat a packet? I've been longing for it for so long already...
No need laa... I wanted the same too, but my mother already reminded me not to. Just wait till the exam is over, okay?
Uhhhh.... Fine...
So, I STILL CANNOT eat it. Ah, throw away this nafs'

Sayang badan kan?

Terima kasih Allah kerana memberi Aqiedah sebagai sahabatku...

Kerap aku menitiskan air mata kerana kesedihan.

Sepucuk warkah sempena ulangtahun hari kelahiranku turut dititipkan. Aku tersenyum. Sampul merah jambu yang ditutup kemas dengan sebentuk hati. Perlahan-lahan aku buka warkah tersebut. Aku baca. Disekelilingnya ada perkataan 'Love you'. Aku tersenyum. Sahabatku itu sememangnya jiwang. Tidak ku sangka. Aku tergelak. Habis satu muka surat ku baca. Tinggal lagi sebelah muka surat.
Kau antara memori terindah yang pernah berlaku dalam tempoh 3 tahun kita kenal di UK
Air mataku bergenang. Terma 'memori terindah' itu menusuk jiwaku. Teringat kembali saat aku mengusiknya.  Tidak pernah sekali dia melenting, tidak pula merajuk. Disebabkan itu, aku gemar mengacau ketenteraman suasana biliknya. Aku tahu suatu hari nanti, apabila dia berumah tangga, suaminya juga akan turut gemar mengusiknya. Pernah tengok drama korea 'Full House' bukan? Begitulah nasibnya kelak. *Gelak jahat*.
I love you more lah....

Semoga hidayah terus diberikan kepadaku. Terima kasih sahabat, terima kasih teman. Terima kasih Allah...

If you don't want to commit to something, please don't do it at all. You're just disappointing the other party when you show no interest in it.

Setia diriku melakukannya
Mengapa tidak engkau?
Bantuku selayaknya
Untuk aku membantumu sebiasanya

Sejujurnya ku merasakan tidak adil
Untuk engkau mencurahkan segala beban ke atasku
Aku juga mahu kebebasan
Untuk mencari sesuatu yang aku inginkan

Jika tidak mahu, katakan tidak
Jangan jadi lembu yang dicucuk hidung
Disorong sana sini kau mengikut
Tanpa hati merelakannya

Berhentilah menggangu masaku
Tidak mahu aku mendusta lagi
Kau pergi jangan kembali
Tanpa kemahuan dirimu sendiri

Sudahlah sudah kau begini
Cubalah mengerti perasaan lain
Aku penat melayan karenahmu
Seperti anak kecil yang tidak langsung tahu

Dewasalah seperti usiamu
Bertanggungjawablah seperti yang teramanah
Kelak kau juga lalui
Bila masa untukmu sudah tiba

Kau kawan kau teman
Jangan sampai menjadi musuh
Kau rahmat kau persoalan
Bantuku jawab di padang sana

Sedarlah rakan apa yang ku maksudkan
Buat pengajaran buat bekalan
Aku kasihmu seperti taulan
Ku harap kau juga sedemikian

Peganglah amanah peganglah janji
Jangan yang kosong yang kau beri
Ku mengharap pertolongan darimu
Bantulah aku untuk membantu dirimu

You guys just don't know what we have to go through to reach the destination. So, it's just ridiculous if you could not reach easier place which surely within your own territory. Learn to survive, man. You're not small baby anymore. And please, learn the map. I know your intellectual level is high enough to google the map and add the destinations. LOL.

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony". But Ben, your idea of happiness does not seem to be correct. If you try to invade a country, surely your civilian will just be physically demolished too as the war involves death and injury. When you show your anger through those missiles, can you once think being at their shoes? You are definitely destroying the world happiness. True, power is good. It widens your territory, but if what you make to get it done is also widening the area to explode. The area does not even have zero oxygen balance, so don't purposely make one. What good you have to fire people to death? Don't you be ashamed of who you are? Show your empathy, because without that, there is no humanity.

I Think Empathy Is Vital

Without Empathy There Is No Humanity
By: nothingandsomething
Written on February 11th, 2011
Without empathy there is no "humanity"
(humanity both being defined as "all human beings collectively" & "the quality of being humane; kindness; benevolence")

I think empathy is what is missing in the world, with its deficiency causing everything considered destructive, cruel, or evil.

On the environmental and animal level:

Preservation of our natural home and the species that keep it in balance would be to have empathy for all people and species of the world. Because without a home, none would survive. No abuse or torture would be inflicted on animals because we would empathize with their physical pain, as we humans are not apart from it.

On the international level (war):

With empathy for the people you would consider fighting, you would understand their grievances and they would understand yours. Leaders would empathize with their own people and the other nation's people, knowing that the death of an innocent is no less precious than their own.

On the national level (government):

Government would serve the needs of all people, regardless of their circumstances, being empathetic to those who suffer most. National leaders would see that money would be a way to solve problems and lessen poverty, rather than grease the hands of the already rich and powerful. The people would collectively understand that having wealth means nothing when your neighbor starves.

On the familial level:

Giving and taking among spouses and their children would be equal, each knowing that more pleasure comes from seeing their family content than coveting space in the home or control over all for themselves. Husbands would not control their wives and wives would refuse to do the same. Marriage would be a partnership rather than a struggle for power, knowing that marriage and a family cannot be happy if only one is satisfied.

On the personal, human level:

Everyone would see themselves in each other, regardless of beauty, race, socio-economic status, nationality, or sex. They would feel grief for a starving orphan on the other side of the world, the same way as if it were their own child. Charity would be an impulse, love would be unquestionable.

God, I sincerely pray that empathy fills the hearts of those with little or none, or those who have forgotten the boundless empathy they possess. Without it there is no humanity.

Dwelling the last thought

“We see and understand things not as they are but as we are.”

Knowing and understanding are the words which could be highlighted in discussing this question. Is there any difference between those words? For further discussion, let us first start with a situation. You know that you have $200 in your pocket but you do not understand the value of it. The goal now is to use $200 for buying delicious meals for a week. And you would not get more money for the week except that $200. There will be possibilities that you will be hungry if you do not understand the value. Based on this scenario, is it important for us to actually understand  things to make it achievable. Do we really understand things that we think we know? In fact, there is no ending to the questions. And we cannot really say that we understand things as the more you learn, the more you know. And the more you know, the more you realize that there is more that you don't know, more that you do not understand, thus,  more never-ending questions to be asked. However, understanding only is not enough for us to participate a living. We should actually interpret how we understand things, either based on neutrality or prejudice. Are they as we are, according to our subjectivity? Or are they as the nature of themselves, according to their objectivity?

‘I see’ often means ‘I understand’. Why don’t we say ‘I taste’ or ‘I smell’ instead? This is common in any conversation. People will say that in agreeing with things. Everything would be seen with the sight sense, which is from the eyes, then followed by other senses. This relates to one way of knowing, such as perception. Perception is also an interpretation or opinion judged on our experience. It is a knowing through senses. Every person has their own perspectives and different styles of thinking. For example, beggars, as we understand, are people who are lazy enough not to work but instead beg money from people for a living. However, let us put ourselves in their shoes. They might want to do decent work, but with their appearance, they might never pass an interview. Thus, what we see is not really what they are. We might know their position but we do not actually understand them from the bottom of our heart.

Historians make claims largely based on their own interpretation of past events. Looking back at history from the present time, it is difficult to argue about the validity of these interpretations. A large part of what we call history could be more accurately described as legends or made up stories. For example, based on history in Malaysia, Mahsuri laid a curse on Langkawi islands following the wrongful accusation that she had committed adultery while betrothed to the Sultan of Kedah. When a soldier pierced a kris (dagger) into her bosom, he drew white fluid instead of blood, this viewed as a sign of her innocence.  However, the part where the soldier drew white fluid instead of blood does not make any sense scientifically and also logically. The part does look like a made up story. Scientifically, blood consists of; plasma which makes up about 55 percent of the blood, blood cells (white and red) and platelets which make up the remaining 45 percent.  In fact, human body always spurts out red fluid if being wounded, and it is quite impossible to have more white fluid than red fluid in the body unless the person himself has an illness called leukemia. However, in this case, the existence of Mahsuri as a past history could not be questionable too because we could actually visit the heritage site of Mahsuri and it is also proven that she has the 7th generation descendent called Wan Aishah Nawawi.

Language used in describing and clarifying claims also plays an important role as a way to understand things.  Most languages make use of sound in representing words. There are words that make same sounds to pronounce in different languages but they carry different meanings and sometimes, people who could not understand one language, will perceive things they heard differently. That happened to my Japanese friend named Yuki Okada  when she was in Turkey. While her back was being massaged by a Turkish woman, she was screaming in Japanese as it was painful, and people around her just laughed at her. When Yuki asked her Turkish friend, she said that the word Yuki used just sounded like mother in Turkish language.  This incident shows that even through language we could understand things differently, as Yuki understands as the way she is, and others just understand it the way they are.

However, this claim could not be argued in natural science. It is a study of the phenomena of the physical universe. Science is reliable, precise, objective, testable, and self-correcting.  We cannot change the facts or the principles as they happen naturally. Therefore, we have to understand it as the way it is, but the way to understand it, is the way we are. Bishops during the renaissance era were looking at science as they understand it and not as they are and as the bishops tend to connect the science to the religion. They had stated that the earth is the centre of the solar system and not the sun, like we know now. Therefore, understanding the facts as we do, not as they are, will lead to the wrong outcome. Language used to describe it would then become an important factor. For example, in text books, the use of scientific terms may sound complicated, but they are chosen to be fit scientifically. However, to make things understandable, learners may use analogy as it is logic, a form of reasoning in which one thing is inferred to be similar to another thing in a certain respect, on the basis of the known similarity between the things in other respects.  For example, as the common analogy used to understand a physics concept, the direction of the magnetic field formed by a current carrying straight wire can be determined by the Right Hand Grip Rule.

Faith and emotion are related in a way to find the truths in spiritual belief because it depends on us. The way we were brought up, too, affects the way we know and understand the spiritual beliefs, especially when living in a multicultural environment and community. My friend, Tashi Wangmo  from Tibet and I once had a conversation about the existence of God. She is a Buddhist and I am a Muslim. In Buddhism, there is no God, and the way they believe something is based on their faith, the things that they see conventionally, and things that they do practically. In Islam, we do believe the existence of Allah, without seeing Him, but with the strong faith inside, implemented by Hidayah (guidance) . The distinction between beliefs in God in two different religions make me realize that if the faith is strong, whatever the outsiders would say, we, as the believers, would keep upholding things that we understand not as the nature of things as it is said in the holy book of Islam which is the Quran. It has been quoted in Chapter 2, verse 256 and 257 which says

“Allah — there is no God but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-‎Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleeps. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the ‎heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that will intercede with Him ‎except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; ‎and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases. His ‎knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them burdens ‎Him not; and He is the High, the Great.” (256) ‎
“There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct ‎from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes ‎in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is ‎All-Hearing, All-Knowing”. (257)

In conclusion, there is objectivity in claims but, as a knower, we also have our own objectives in understanding them. Therefore, things can be understood according to our subjectivity thus changing the claims to be subjective. It is fair to say as living in a community, we should communicate with each other to understand what others are going through. Thus, global understanding should be promoted through channels such as education, and world summits, so that real conclusion can be achieved instead of just one way of understanding.

1st summer exam paper 2012

Oh Allah The Almighty

I'm begging you, deeply form my sinful heart, please give me an overall 1st class result or at least 2nd upper's.

Nak dijadikan cerita, on the 30th of May, di saat hampir semua orang bersuka ria dah habis exam, aku baru la terkedek-kedek melangkah ke dalam dewan peperiksaan. And thank Allah I started my first paper with all determination, konon-konon macam prepared la kan. Tapi, when I flipped the first page of the questions booklet, hati dah berdebar-debar. Oh my... The questions are completely new and tricky in comparison with past years' exam papers. I made circles on question numbers as to mark my choices. Then barulah attempt the first question. Rasanya I started after 10 mins kot. Punyalah took time untuk pilih soalan kan sebab macam speechless.

1st question was done within 45 minutes, okay, to be exact only half of it was done. So I had to continue with next questions. Tengok markah punya lah banyak, but my derivation pendek je. Halal la. Malas nak fikir. I continued doing other until I realised the time left. Cuak gila okay? Banyak tak siap lagi, and macam tak tahu jugak. I tried and tried until the time ended. The big basketball game's clock memang helpful to watch my time out. Every single minute was shown clearly as it was digital clock.

Harapan? As I said, I want  a 1st. But, macam that would be miracle la if I get it. So, I'm hoping for 2nd upper at least. Amin...

Coretan petang sabtu

Suppose Saturday evening = Study time,

Saturday evening = Facebook + Barbie/Disney movies + Skype + Tutorial (Study)

Study time - Tutorial = FB + movies + Skype

Suppose FB = Movies = Skype =  Tutorial = 1

(Saturday evening - tutorial) / study time = (FB + movies + Skype - Tutorial) / study time

(Saturday evening - tutorial) / study time = 3 /4

Means,

Procrastinating activity overwhelmed the time. There are more FB + movies + Skype sessions during Saturday evening compared to tutorial. Time allocated for good reasons is less than for unreasonable session.

Thus,

FB has to be deactivated. Movies has to be banned. Skype has to be shut.

Conflicts

FB is the only leisure medium which can give instantaneous happiness. Skype is one of the ways to get in contact with housemates, thus cannot be shut directly. Movies can be controlled with strong will.

Decision

Control your wits, face the guts, stroll your will and kick the goal.

Buat Zue in Plymouth

She said she missed me badly, so this was what I made for her in reply.

Who is Zue? Nur Azureen is the name given by the parents for a sweet little girl who now studying in Plymouth, UK. I know her in a program called Projek Kalsom, and ever since our friendship grows stronger through Facebook. Funny, right? We never see each other after the program ends, just a few phone calls and lots of sharing and comments in facebook tie us up.

For Zue who is far down to the south, GOOD LUCK and all the best for your undertaking. Hope to see you in future. Just bear with the assignments now till we both achieve our goal and aim being here in the UK. InsyaAllah.

Selamat Hari Guru

I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.
~ John Steinbeck

New house

Alhamdulillah...

The second we agreed to sign the contract, one burden went down already.
After all thoughts and considerations, beralah dan mengalah, we decided to take that one house with 600GBP rate per month per house. Though the conditions are not that good now, hopefully, after it is being cleaned, everything will sort into place and we can live there happily.

Sweet in the flour, we chose our room accordingly by our preferences. There's nothing to fight against, everyone seemed to be happy with the chosen room. I hope the room is warm enough for us to cuddle in during winter season.

Jotting down the request of things to be replaced new, the landlord who actually seems to be too young to have more properties, gives us the freedom to choose the date to start the contract. So, either it's late or early, we have the 10 months contract in hands, starting from September till July.

Ahhh, now I can slowly pack my things into the luggage and wait to be transferred to another house for summer keeping. Hopefully this is the best for us and what has been decided by Allah. InsyaAllah...

Till we have new progress on the cleaning and tidying up session.

My childhood ambition

Once upon a time, in a far far preposterous river-land , there was a young cute girl lived in a small house, together with her family. She was too small that people could hardly guess her real age. Day by day, she grew up with her family's love, playing mischievously with her elder brother as well as making mess at living hall. You could just imagine how a mom had to tidy up every single day, oh well, lets talk frankly, every single time they finished playing.

One day, she went  to a shop, accompanying her family to buy her brother a school bag. At that time, she was still too small to be sent to a school. So, the parents refused to buy her one too. But, with her 'what I want, I MUST get' whim that she cried out loud and laid on the shop floor while kicking her small foot to the ground, she got one. Nice try, buddy! She was so keen to be formally educated that she entered her kindergarten era at a very young age 3. That was also included with her nothing-but-scrap papers she kept in her bag, just to make the bag seemed fully occupied. When she slept, as so well mentioned and pictured in old photos, she always had this kind of habit, i.e sucking her own middle and ring fingers till they got swollen. That was her in her big baby time.

"Wait! When are we in?"
"Back in 1997."
"How come?"
"Time machine. I want to recall back my fickly ambition. Haha."
But, first, let's enjoy this video MY GENERASI

Spotted one biodata book in the video above? Ok, let's start from there. Do you still remember how we change our very first few ambition when we were in primary school? I remember writing ambitions like astronaut, scientist, architect, NO DOCTOR as I'm afraid of taking medicines and injection, and even gymnast!

Those ambitions will change when we discover or learn new things. As for astronaut and scientist, the interest may develop when you start gaining knowledge in science subject, studying about Earth and its solar system, basic science principles like acid and alkali, I remembered bringing some fruits to the science class to make prickle out of them, and etc. When we realise we are actually quite good and getting A's for artworks, the ambition may then change to become an architect. So random, right? Haha.

One time in 1998, 98' Commonwealth Games was held in Kuala Lumpur which then had triggered me to become a gymnast. That was super duper ridiculous ambition among all. How could I be a gymnast without going to any early training, right? Gymnasts in the games were so good at showing their skills, they all looked graceful and beautiful in each movement especially with ribbons.

Moving to secondary school, I was too unsure about my future career until I reached to Form 4. When we were in upper form, we got to know more about science knowledge we had. Mathematics was then becoming harder. Everything looked so real in showing us just a bit of flavour on our future profession. So, I assumed I was quite good in Chemistry. Even though Chemistry was not my very best subject towards the end, but I was happy to gain the knowledge. Physics were tough as I always fell asleep in physics classes. However, it might be my lucky chance that I got good marks in the exam. Added with me holding mini scholarship from PETRONAS since in form 1, I made up my mind to be a chemical engineer.

2012. Sometimes I feel the course is burdening me as moving to 2nd stage. Assignments and academic materials are quite difficult to understand. Being in lecture theater seems like being in a space with a super intelligent alien talking to me about matters on white big screen with formulae and graphs I barely understand. And now, at least for the remaining two years and half, I'm still reading chemical engineering course at Newcastle University and soon becoming a chemical engineer in PETRONAS.The journey becomes harder and harder and I need to climb up quicker. But, holding to a motto 'Allah won't burden you if you aren't up to the standard', I will carry on this and keep learning. InsyaAllah...

Ais krim 20 sen

Tadi, masa dalam lecture Prof Scott, tiba-tiba teringat ais krim Malaysia 20 sen, to be exact, perisa Asam Boi. aaaaaa sedapnye... macam nak makan sekarang jugak. tp mane de asam boi punye perisa kat sini. Maybe ada, tapi kena g kedai Cina la kot.

Teringat dulu, masa umur 7 tahun. Main dengan kawan-kawan. Lepas tu, ade pak cik kat c2, masa tu die ade program la kat kuaters kitorang. Kitorang nak pak cik tu belanja aiskrim 20 sen. Lepas tu, pak cik tu bg syarat. Sape tulisan paling lawa, dapat 3 batang ais krim *kira extra la dari yang lain*. Haaa guess what, tulisan aku lah yang pak cik tu pilih sebagai yang paling lawa. Weeeeee. Happy gila kot dapat ais krim lebih. Asam boi, anggur and milo. Haha.

Nicitoyou

Haha. It was funny when my old friend, Fyda asked "What's Nicitoyou?"

Well, both Nici and Me To You are brands of soft bear. So, to combine both favorite bears, then it becomes Nicitoyou. Probably the name is quite out of nowhere, but enough to convey my favoritism of bears.

Nici

The grey, first from right is Me To You bear
My bear collection is still countable, just I don't know exactly how many are there as some are left back in Malaysia. Ones I have here are just collections of this year.

I began collecting those bears since I got the very first present from Nafuiaha; the brown bear in the middle. I called it 'Surprise' as it was a surprise gift from him. Until now and among all, Surprise is the softest and cuddly bear I love most.
